Samantha Ege
As an internationally recognized pianist, educator, and musicologist, Dr. Samantha Ege has focused on the musical contributions of underrepresented musicians, specifically women and people of color as well as the figures that made their ascendence possible.
Composer Florence Price has been a pivotal figure for Dr. Ege, both as a performer and researcher. Her most recent and second album, Fantasie Nègre: The Piano Music of Florence Price, was released earlier this year. Her debut album also features the music of Price, as well as other notable female composers. Four Women: Music for Solo Piano by Price, Kaprálová, Bilsland, and Bonds was released in 2018.
