Biography
Lori Wallach is the Outreach Coordinator for Queens Memory, a Queens-focused digital archiving project jointly sponsored by Queens College and Queens Public Library. She is happy to work with faculty, staff, students, and other members of the college community who would like to collaborate with or contribute to Queens Memory. Current and recent initiatives include the Queens Name Explorer interactive map, the Queens Memory COVID-19 Project, the QC Retired Faculty and Staff Oral History Project and an ongoing partnership with Prof. Johnathan Thayer’s Public History classes on the Olde Towne of Flushing Burial Ground.
Lori received her MLS and Archives Certificate from Queens College’s GSLIS. She also holds an MA in English from Adelphi University and an M.Phil in Medieval Studies from the CUNY Graduate Center. Prior to joining Queens Memory in 2014, she taught English as an adjunct in several colleges and worked as a writing tutor at the CUNY School of Law.
Aside from her interests in local history and genealogy, Lori enjoys singing and playing the clarinet in various community music groups.
